About

TLCD Architecture is a leading design firm located in the San Francisco North Bay region.

We provide expertise in planning, programming, architectural and interior design, as well as furniture selection and specification. Our managing principals and design professionals, a majority of which are LEED Accredited, leverage their diverse backgrounds along with ongoing research and investigation to approach each project in a socially and environmentally responsible manner. TLCD’s work encompasses civic, educational, healthcare, hospitality and commercial projects that serve our communities.

Through careful listening, active facilitation and meaningful communication with our clients, we build a thorough understanding of both the basic requirements and higher goals specific to each project. Rather than a particular design style, it’s our consistent approach that unifies our work. This approach is defined by our commitment to 3 key things:

  • We’re all about PEOPLE. We involve our clients in an engaging, participatory design process. Clients, builders, and those who live and work in our buildings are what drive us.
  • PLACE provides us with inspiration. Each project’s environs are unique; from this we seek inspiration and draw cues, and design to compliment and respect the environment.
  • We pay meticulous attention to CRAFT. We research and explore a myriad of technologies including new, sophisticated approaches. Sustainability and environmental responsibility are at the very core of this process.

Our blog, TLCD Today, is dedicated to sharing our passion for architecture, news of our projects, and an ongoing commentary on our firm culture.  We hope that you find it as ‘seriously fun’ as we do.
